Social skills Groups

Drawing Time

Our groups are a fun way to participate in speech therapy with strengths-based approaches used to improve self-confidence, emotional regulation and peer relationships.

NDIS funding can be used to participate in these groups.

Art Therapy Groups: In our Art Therapy groups children learn how art and creativity can provide ways to be mindful and how it can help them when they are feeling overwhelmed. They practise recognising and naming different emotions, identifying where they show up in the body, encouraging stronger mind-body connections. The art activities focus on celebrating the children's strengths, developing self-confidence and fostering a sense of self.

School Readiness Groups: Our School Readiness groups focus on skills that are useful for the school environment while also focussing on building the participants' confidence and self-esteem within a group setting. Games, activities, book reading, and songs give children the opportunity to practise things such as responding to their name, turn taking, joint  attention, working to a group plan, and early literacy skills.
